The Coaxial LiquidCchiller is a circulatory cooling subsystem. It consists of micro dc compressor (12V/24V/48V) with R134A coolant, smallest condenser and radiator, copper coil evaporator (heat exchanger), filter drier, driver board and other refrigeration parts.

The coaxial liquid chiller is a miniature cooling system specially applies for a microclimate cooling, and provides extraordinary cooling capacity for vertical micro farms in a confined space.

  • 1 x power supply (24 VDC)
  • 1 x water pump (inside the bucket)
  • 1 x water temperature sensor (inside the bucket)
  • 1 x bucket (the capacity is 5 gallons but it is filled with 12 liters of water)
  • 1 x Raspberri Pi control/acquisition board (In order to easily have access to the test data and configure the parameter for the Coaxial chiller test)

The test condition are:

  1. Room temperature : 30-32°C
  2. Water temperature at the beginning: >32°C
  3. Water volume : 12 liters ( in a 5 gallons bucket)
  4. Water pump flow: around 10L/min
  5. Compressor speed: 2000rpm, 3500 rpm
  6. Target Cooling Temperature : 10°C
  7. Compressor speed: 2000rmp, 3500rmp

The test result:

* The maximum time for cooling the water from 30°C to 20°C is:

  • 55 min @2000 rpm (compressor speed)
  • 45 min @ 3500 rpm (compressor speed)

* The maximum time for cooling the water from 20°C to 10°C is:

  • 116 min @2000 rpm (compressor speed)
  • 75 min @ 3500 rpm (compressor speed)
